Update on Code of Practice for Governance of State Bodies

Code of Practice for Governance of State Bodies 2016

The revised Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies applies from 1 September 2016.  This is the key guidance document on the corporate governance expectations of State Bodies and other organisations operating to public sector norms. The Code updates and expands on the previous code with additional guidance on several areas including:

  • Oversight arrangements with parent Departments;
  • Alignment of Statements of Strategy
  • Reporting Obligations
  • Composition of Boards and the role of the Chairperson;
  • Risk reporting.

The IPA offers this event as either a full or half day briefing.  This important briefing will provide an update on the most important issues in the 2016 Code, taking account of how the guidance applies in different situations.
